PracticeX
Practice feedback for violin, viola and cello. Play a scale or a piece from your own music and see which notes were out of tune, in seconds.
FlatSharp
Three ways to practise
Scale practicePlay a scale or an arpeggio: every note is coloured on the staff, flat or sharp, and every take is kept so you see your progress.
See how it works
A 90-second video, no sound. Its captions are in English.
Why it is different
- It reads what you played: no score to pick first, no click track.
- It judges against your pitch: the A you tuned to, or the one it estimates from your playing.
- It runs in your browser and works offline once opened: the sound never leaves your device.
How to use it
- Put the phone on a stand about a metre from you, in a quiet room.
- Allow the microphone when asked.
- For scales: record, or open a recording. Optional: bow each open string for about a second first (violin G–D–A–E; viola and cello C–G–D–A), and the app checks your tuning and judges against it. Skip it and it uses the A in Settings. Then play a scale and its arpeggio, with a short pause between exercises.
It is a beta: what to expect
- It reads major and minor scales and arpeggios over one to four octaves, on violin, viola and cello.
- A hesitation inside a scale is fine; a note played far from any scale degree is shown as wrong.
- The chord tuner cannot separate a unison or a minor second, and octave stops are hard for it.
- The results (the staff, the cents and the reports) are shown in English.
- It has been tried on a few recordings so far. Your honest feedback matters most when it gets something wrong.

Your privacy
The sound is analysed on this device and is never uploaded. Only your last tuner settings and your last result (for feedback) are kept in the browser. If you send feedback, only what you choose to send leaves the device.
